POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES The primary role of the Senior Corporate Accountant (Partnership Group) is to support the Corporate Accounting team and be cross trained on all team responsibilities, which include but are not limited to:
Perform accounting functions related to joint ventures including monthly and quarterly joint venture distributions, contributions, and income allocations
Track equity accounts for the ventures (i.e. waterfalls/HLBV)
Prepare monthly equity method investment and noncontrolling interest reconciliations, along with calculations of EIE and NCI
Team with other departments to prepare transactional journal entries (acquisitions and dispositions) and assist in coordination and review of purchase price allocations
Assist in the preparation of shareholders’ equity, including having an understanding of stock-based compensation
Track and report UPREIT OP unit statements for unitholders, along with calculation of distributions and income allocations
Team with corporate accounting to prepare consolidating journal entries on a monthly and quarterly basis
Assist in internal and external audit requests related to quarterly reviews and annual audit
Prepare and review various 10Q/K disclosures and other quarterly reporting schedules
Responsibility for Reg G/Non-GAAP reconciliations and reporting
Prepare and review joint venture financial statements for quarterly and annual reporting requirements including coordination of annual stand-alone audits
Aid in the preparation of the consolidated statement of cash flows, along supporting cash flow schedules
Have the ability to perform technical/peer research and present findings
Complete special projects assigned by the leadership team
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. Majoring in Accounting is preferred.
Minimum 2 years of Public Accounting experience with a Big 4 Firm
CPA or currently working towards CPA is required.
Ability to understand complex corporate structures and consolidation
Expert knowledge using spreadsheet programs (including Microsoft Excel)
Working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Yardi experience a plus/preferred
Strong written and oral communication skills
Using independent discretion and judgment to make business recommendations
Teamwork capabilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Base Salary (based upon, and subject to, candidate experience): $90,000 - $115,000 (plus generous cash incentives). Job duties vary based on job title and experience.
