POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES The Vice President – Operational Accounting is a senior finance leader responsible for overseeing the accounting, financial reporting, and operational integration for a large-scale Senior Housing operating portfolio within a publicly traded REIT environment. This role provides strategic oversight of financial reporting processes, joint venture partnerships, and operator relationships, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting in accordance with GAAP, SEC, and SOX requirements. The VP partners closely with Asset Management, FP&A, Investments, and executive leadership to deliver actionable insights, drive process transformation, and support long-term value creation across the portfolio.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership & Strategy
Lead and develop a high-performing Operational Accounting team supporting a complex senior housing portfolio
Establish and execute strategic priorities aligned with enterprise goals, including process optimization, automation, and scalability
Drive continuous improvement and standardization across accounting processes, systems, and controls
Financial Reporting & Public Company Compliance
Oversee the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for operating properties and joint ventures
Ensure compliance with SEC reporting requirements, including Form 10-Q and 10-K disclosures
Maintain and enhance internal controls in compliance with SOX requirements
Portfolio Oversight & Analysis
Provide executive-level oversight of:
Balance sheet and income statement variance analysis
